Janice was a member of South Warwickshire Transgender Group after I got Bone Cancer as to my work over seas and she help me get over the treatment she was a great help but we lost contact at the end of 2008.
I will remember Janice for the help and love I got from her at that time.

I met Janice first in a Beaumont Society meeting . Then Later I met her in Spectrum London .
What can I say except that I respected her greatly and thought the world of her. She was intelligent, kind and thoughtful She was a doctor and always put others first. When I went to a Spectrum Meeting not long ago a girl arrived who had pains in her shoulder. Janice although not at all well herself took the girl and myself to the Royal Free Hospital to be looked at . Her wife was ill too but Janice was determined she would not go into care and said she would look after her wife until she couldn't any more. She went to several women feminist groups and was always in her quite but resolute way promoting women as a whole including trans women in that spectrum . She always looked lovely and made great efforts with her appearance. Her clothes were sophisticated and understated but she always looked elegant .
What more can I say Seeing her in a Spectrum Meeting lifted my heart . I shall miss her greatly.

I will miss her wisdom, her enthusiasm, her strength and understanding... and most of all her friendship...

Janice sadly passed away on Saturday 28th March 2009. She had been unwell for some time..
She was one of the founder members of Spectrum Haringey, which later became Spectrum London and helped shape what the group is today.
For a woman of her advanced years she had an energy that was simply outstanding and often put to shame people more then half her age with her tireless devotion in helping to support the trans community.
This memorial page is where people can share their own memories and thoughts of Janice. People who wish to submit something to be included on the page can email the group at

I only met her once when visiting Denise & Mike.
She was a strong person but not loud.
Dear Janice
I met you as a researcher and we became friends soon after.
I had such a great honour to record your beautiful life stories.
With good uses of your oral history, I will try to spread your love and strength to many others.
Thank you for being part of my life in many good ways. You will be in my heart forever.
Rest in peace Janice. I will miss you a lot...

I would have loved to known the young Janice to see how she was in her prime.
