In general most shops are fine to shop in, shops that are always good with well trained staff around trans issues are the likes of Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, MAC for makeup especially is good if looking for a makeover to test a new look out.
Evans is great for larger shoe sizes, as well as clothes, Long Tall Sally is good for taller girls with longer backs, Brantano has larger shoe sizes although the range is not that brilliant.
Charity shops are a good place as always to find bits and pieces and there are plenty of gems shop wise around london, such as in hackney central and all over the place really.
Camden Market is not too bad but be prepared to shop for a bargain, lots of expensive but cheaply made clothes there.

Housmans - radical booksellers since 1945, Housmans Bookshop is the main broad-based radical bookshop in London, and is one of the most significant radical bookshops in the country. Although currently they have a limited stock they are happy to order any book thats in print. A very worthwhile enterprise to support.
Mac Cosmetics - A good high street shop that is very used to trans women visiting their shops, with a good quality ranges of make up along with cheap makeovers in store that will also count towards your purchase a store well worth visiting to gauge what colours suit you well. |
