This is a beautiful and sensitively written account by Jenny of what it can mean to be Transsexual and explodes the myth that it can only be doom and gloom. It explores not just how the individual themselves is affected, but also of those nearest and dearest to them as well. I found myself both laughing out loud and occasionally nodding with the odd tear in my eye as Jenny unravelled the curious and tangled strands of her life.
One of the things that makes this book fun to read is Jenny's honesty, a optimistic approach that is never overbearing and a wicked sense of humour, which I always feel is an essential tool to help you through challenging times.
Jenny has produced a book that is both deeply moving but also very funny to read, for a subject that sometimes can be made to see so single levelled and positioned with a standard narrative of writing Jenny has broken that mode.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone wanting to have some idea of what is involved in transitioning, and how it affects those that we love the most. A very special person and a superb book.
